Day 557

1. Seeing that the bird’s nest outside our kitchen window is now occupied.  I was never a big bird watcher – until I met my MIL.  Now, I find genuine joy in witnessing the comings and goings of our local “ordinary” birds.

2. Learning how to chop food properly.  (Hint: The tip of the knife blade never leaves the cutting board.)  Cutting veggies is now rather enjoyable – oddly soothing, almost meditative.

3. Receiving an offer to download three free audio books as a “Thank You” for volunteering for World Book Night.  Sweet!  Here are the titles I chose:

I'm halfway through "Kitchen Confidential" - and if I ever had any delusions of being a chef, this book squashed those almost immediately. (But it's still a good book!) :)
