1. Walking down a neighborhood road – and realizing that a deer was standing at the end of it, watching me. He wagged his stumpy little white tail as I approached; then ambled back in to the woods when I got within a few feet. Wow.
2. My dad’s victory dance in triumphing over nature. (A menacing wasp.) How I love his sense of humor.
3. Passing a patch of vibrant wild flowers in a vacant lot.

What’s even more hilarious is that after my dad finished his celebratory moves, he walked over to collect/dispose of the wasp – but the insect shook itself off, then flew away before my dad reached him. Pretty gosh darn funny! 🙂
