Day 16

1. Seeing an picture of an authentically wild mom and baby monkey calmly sitting in a busy Indian city.  (The picture I saw looked a lot like this one – and it was the tiny hand of the baby monkey that hit my heart.)

2. Getting a free lamp and a free laptop bag, exactly on the day I needed both items!

3. Laughing out loud listening to a This American Life podcast.

Absolutely. And as my awareness continues to grow and deepen, those moments seem to happen more and more. (Now, it’s likely that the frequency of the moments have stayed exactly the same, but my ability to see/recognize/appreciate them has changed…)

  1. A Well Wisher

In your first point above, you mentioned about an Indian City; I assume that you’re talking about a city in India. And, is it New Delhi?

About thee weeks ago, I was at a train-station in New Delhi (Hazrat Nizamuddin Station), waiting for a train. And, at a restaurant over there, there was a young foreign woman, wearing something blue I think.

The woman was struggling to explain to the vendor at the restaurant the choice of food she wanted (probably due to language barriers).

And for a moment, on seeing this young woman, I had thought that it was you. The woman looked like the kind of person who seeks out a pleasant day.

And so, I’m just asking out of curiosity, was that you?

Yes, for #1 I was referencing a city in India. But the city was Mysore, not New Delhi – and the woman you saw wasn’t me. I have visited India once, but it was about 5 years ago.

Still, I’m delighted that you thought of me when you saw a woman who was seeking new and pleasant experiences; and who knows, perhaps your path and mine might still cross one of these days. 🙂

You should definitely give it a listen. It’s smart, witty, and engaging – everything I look for in quality entertainment. (Truly.)
