Day 285

1. Reading an article about a local 88-year-old woman who teaches low-impact aerobics three days a week to over 75 other seniors.  Wowzers!  What a positive role model.  I want to be that cool when I’m that old.  :)

2. Enjoying dinner and a movie with my husband.  Happy birthday sweetie!

3. Receiving an unexpected note on the back of our dinner bill:

Aww. So cute!

I love the happy little drawing.   So cute!

  1. It’s always an inspiration to see seniors being active. I read an article about a 95 year-old yogi yesterday….I closed my eyes and imagined myself still practicing at even half that age. It made me feel good. It saddens me to see people embrace that “my body’s shutting down with age” mentality. I know there are extenuating circumstances…but some give in to it a little too easily.

    • I think I may have read that same article; was the woman in the accompanying photo wearing a red skirt? I thought the whole article (and person) was super cool. :) I agree with you in that many people ‘give up’ on their bodies simply because their age increases in years; I love these reminders that people can not only exist, but LIVE with energy and vitality, well into their 80s, 90s, and beyond.
